Myrrh has been prized around the world for over 6,000 years!

Myrrh resin has been used throughout history as a perfume, incense and medicine. Myrrh mixed with posca or wine was common across ancient cultures, for general pleasure, and as an analgesic.

In Ayurvedic medicine, myrrh tonic is considered rejuvenating. As with frankincense, myrrh is thought to be anti-inflammatory. It also appears to be, to some degree, antibacterial. Both myrrh and frankincense were some of the most highly prized commodities in ancient civilizations and became the driving force behind the creation of the incense trade routes.

The process of tapping the trees and resin tree production takes lots of time and expertise, making it expensive to produce.
