Amazing facts on Melatonin.

Melatonin is a hormone produced in the pineal gland of the brain that is responsible for regulating sleep cycles.

Melatonin is often considered to be the body’s natural pacemaker. It plays an instrumental role in signalling time of day and time of year, helping to regulate your body’s internal clock.

Melatonin plays a role in regulating the female menstruation cycle. It is responsible for regulating the hormones that affect the onset, frequency and duration of menstruation cycles, including the onset of menstruation later in life

Blue light is Melatonin’s enemy. Studies have shown that blue light emitted by screens (TV, computer, phone etc.) suppresses melatonin levels making it more difficult to fall asleep. Red light is on the other hand, Melatonin’s best friend. Red lights are the least likely to suppress melatonin levels and shift circadian rhythms. This makes red light a perfect option for before bed lights and nightlights.

Sleep Essence or ImmuPro?

Young Living has two supplements that we occasionally use for sleep: Sleep Essence and ImmuPro. Young Living takes great care in choosing the natural ingredients used in their supplements and these are both infused with essential oils, adding an extra layer of support for our bodies and minds.

SleepEssence and ImmuPro both contain melatonin, which helps to promote sleep. The big difference between SleepEssence and ImmuPro is that ImmuPro includes ingredients helping to support the immune system.

ImmuPro is a power-packed formula that combines naturally derived, immune-supporting Ningxia wolfberry polysaccharides with a unique blend of reishi, maitake, and agaricus blazei mushroom powders to deliver powerful antioxidant activity to help reduce the damaging effects of oxidative stress from free radicals. ImmuPro also provides zinc and selenium for proper immune function, along with other chelated minerals that emerging science suggests are more easily absorbed by the body.
