There have been some questions about using essential oils neat (undiluted).
MANY Young Living essential oils can safely be used neat – ALL can safely be used neat on the bottoms of the feet.
Some are considered “hot” oils, and may need to be diluted in VEGETABLE OIL, particularly when used on more sensitive parts of the body or for those with skin sensitivity.
LAVENDER can safely be used neat even on children. (Remember, I am referring ONLY to the Young Living essential oils!)
I personally prefer using the oils neat because I do not like to get vegetable oil on my clothing. However, IF there is any discomfort, I immediately layer pure vegetable oil (V-6) over the essential oil. Within a minute, any sensitivity usually dissipates.
It is important to understand, though, that diluting essential oils in vegetable oil does NOT diminish the effect.
