NEUROAURICULAR TECHNIQUE was developed by Dr. Gary Young and involves application of essential oils to the rims of the ears, the back of the skull and along the spine.  Stimulation of acupressure points on the rims of the ears and along the occipital ridge from the brain stem outward towards the ears enhances the effects of the therapeutic-grade essential oils selected.  This application of single oils and blends has been highly effective for physical challenges and emotional blockages.

D. Gary Young developed auricular aroma technique, the integration of essential oils with standard auricular technique, after using essential oils in acupuncture applications in his clinic. He found that using essential oils in conjunction with acupuncture was extremely beneficial. He also found that acupuncture stimulation with essential oils was noticeably greater than either acupuncture or essential oil applications by themselves.

In the class, we used the following INTENTS, essential oil blends, and applications.


VALOR BLEND

  • Apply to rims of ears and ear lobes.
  • Rub palms together and cup over nose, inhaling deeply several times.
  • Close eyes and INTEND to connect with the Creator through your Crown Chakra at the top of your head and through connections from the bottoms of each foot and the base of your spine that extend through the core of Earth and to the Creator below.  INTEND that these connections continuously expand to allow you to be fully connected to the Creator.
  • INTEND that there be an energetic cylinder around you that extends to the Creator above, down through the center of Earth, and to the Creator below.
  • Ask the Creator to assist you in removing everything that could interfere with your healing from your physical cells, your energy being, and the entire cylinder.  INTEND to ALLOW this process to occur.
  • INTEND that there be a shield around your cylinder so that if anything harmful is directed towards you, it will not enter your cylinder.
  • Ask the Creator to assist you by filling your cylinder with everything that is supportive of you at this point in your journey.
  • INTEND that all vibrations exist in your physical form, energy being, and cylinder in Perfect Balance.
  • Breathe in deeply several times.

LOCATE THE ACUPRESSURE POINTS ON YOUR EARS

Apply light pressure to each point of both ears. (This can be done on both ears at the same time.) As you gently squeeze the acupressure points, INTEND to release the emotion associated with the points, breathing in deeply.

  • On ear lobe right below ridge of ear à FEAR
  • On ear lobe in center below point for fear à HEART
  • On outer rim of ear at widest point à DEPRESSION
  • On outer rim of ear just below point above àOVERWHELMED
  • On inner rim of ear at widest point à GUILT
  • On inner rim of ear just below point above à SELF-PITY

TAKE A DEEP BREATH IN . . . AND SLOWLY RELEASE IT.

PLACE YOUR INDEX FINGERS ON THE BASE OF THE SKULL BEHIND THE EARS. Using a circular motion, massage the points, moving towards the center of the head.  In the middle, there is a soft semi-circle.  This is the brain stem, and is the area where the essential oils and blends are applied.  Just gently massage this area for a moment, and INTEND to release all tension in your body.

HARMONY BLEND

  • Apply to brain stem, using circular motions.  INTEND that the energy of HARMONY fill every part of the physical form and energy being.
  • Using the circular massage technique, massage the points along the base of the skull.
  • Continue this for at least 2 minutes.

JOY BLEND

  • Apply to brain stem, using circular motions.  INTEND that the energy of JOY fill every part of the physical form and energy being.
  • Continue this for at least 2 minutes.

SACRED MOUNTAIN BLEND

  • Apply to brain stem, using circular motions.  INTEND that the energy of PERFECT BALANCE fill every part of the physical form and energy being.
  • Continue this for at least 2 minutes.

BELIEVE BLEND

Apply to back of neck and across shoulders.  INTEND that the energy of SELF-BELIEF fill the entire physical form and energy being.

BREATHE IN DEEPLY SEVERAL TIMES, INTENDING TO REMAIN IN THIS STATE OF HARMONY, JOY, and BALANCE.

Note: This can be done to yourself or to others . . . Whenever working on others, be sure to do the grounding steps on yourself FIRST and INTEND HARMLESSNESS ON ALL LEVELS.  At end of session, step back and INTEND to make an “energy break”.

Other blends can be selected and other auricular points according to individual need.  However, these points and essential oils are very healing for most people.
