OMEGA BLUE contains the essential fatty acid called omega 3 along with the essential oils of BLUE CHAMOMILE (also called German chamomile), CLOVE, LEMONGRASS, and MYRRH.

Why do we need Omega 3?
Omega 3 is critical for cardiovascular health and for building healthy cells throughout the body.  When the cellular membranes are healthy, fluid easily passes in and out of the cells, allowing nutrients to enter and toxins to be taken away.  If the omega 3 is insufficient, the cell membranes become hard, and nutrients cannot easily enter to nourish and rebuild the cells.

Those who suffer from diabetes and autoimmune diseases such as fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, spondylosis, mycoplasma, Epstein Barr, lupus, and Crones disease usually have diminished levels of omega 3.

Lowered levels of omega 3 also cause rapid aging, reduced brain function and poor eyesight.

Is Fat ‘Good’ or ‘Bad’?
There is much confusion about fats – lipids – today.  For years many of us have heard “fat is bad”.  It is true that some fat s are quite unhealthy, but it is also true that some fats (like omega 3) are truly essential for health.  Since the “news” spread rapidly almost 25 years ago, heart disease has become the #1 killer in the US, and people are being diagnosed with heart disease at younger and younger ages.

TRANSFATS are the fats which are NOT healthy.

Research has indicated that there has been a 400% increase in transfat consumption while unsaturated fats decreased by 80%.  This has caused incredibly unhealthy ratios in the body resulting in the huge increase of heart disease.

The Harvard School of Public Health reported that 30,000 premature deaths in the US can be attributed to consumption of transfats.

Other research indicated that 50% of people who die from heart attacks have NO HISTORY of heart disease.  HOWEVER, they DO have reduced levels of omega 3.  The conclusion is that lowered levels of omega 3 cause increased risk of fatal heart attack.

Where can we get Omega 3?
Omega 3 is found in nuts, some seeds, and fish oil.  The molecules are quite fragile and easily damaged by heat.  What started out as a healthy option can rapidly become a carcinogen (cancer-causing).  This can occur at any stage of processing or storage, and the shelf life is extremely short.  In addition, fish oils often contain heavy metal toxins which are not healthy.

Why are there essential oils in Omega Blue?
The essential oils of Blue chamomile, clove, lemongrass, and myrrh are there primarily to preserve the integrity of the omega 3 and to enhance absorption by the body.  It makes no difference what how many “good things” we put into the body if it is not properly absorbed – the body just cannot use it.

In addition, the essential oils selected have wonderful properties.

  • BLUE CHAMOMILE is a powerful antioxidant (inhibits lipid peroxidation), anti-tumoral, anti-inflammatory, relaxant, anesthetic.  It promotes better digestion and liver and gallbladder health.  It has been used for hepatitis, fatty liver, arteriosclerosis, insomnia, arthritis, skin problems, scar tissue.  (Essential Oils Desk Reference 4th edition, page 46)
  • CLOVE is highly antibacterial and antiviral.  It has the highest score on the ORAC scale (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) with 1,078,700!  (Blueberries score 2400 by comparison.)
  • LEMONGRASS is antifungal, antibacterial, anti-parasitic, anti-inflammatory, dilates blood vessels, improves circulation, and promotes lymph flow.  (Essential Oils Desk Reference 4th edition, page 74)
  • MYRRH has been successfully used for cancer, diabetes, hepatitis, and skin conditions as well as healing wounds and for bacterial and viral infections.

Omega Blue softgels are enteric coated so the contents are released in the intestines without being compromised by stomach acid.

NOTE:  It is not possible to encapsulate the essential oils of Clove and Myrrh in a vegetable capsule.  Therefore some animal products are used.

Recommended amount of Omega Blue is 3 softgels/day. However, more may be indicated if there is a deficiency.
