I receive many questions every week, and one that surfaces often is this:

How do I dilute the essential oils if I want to apply it directly on the skin? 

When we use a vegetable oil (V-6) with an essential oil, it is called “diluting”,  It decreases the chance of skin sensitivity.  It also slows down the rate of absorption into the body.  Many people love to dilute the oils. I personally prefer to use a minimal amount of the oil undiluted on parts of the body that are not likely to have skin sensitivity (such as the bottoms of the feet) and then to reapply frequently.   In the event of any skin sensitivity, vegetable oil can be applied.  The sensitivity normally subsides within a moment.

NOTE:  The bottoms of the feet are the least likely place on the body for there to be skin sensitivity.
